Medicare or Medicaid?

People always ask us,

“What is the difference between Medicare and Medicaid?”

Medicare is a nationally offered health insurance program for adults aged 65 or 66 and older in the United States, depending on their age when they qualify for the insurance.

Medicaid, however, is a state-specific program for those with limited resources.  That’s why some of the programs have their own names, such as “California Medical.”  A great way to remember the difference between the two is to focus on the ending of the words.   The “aid” in Medicaid signifies that it is there to assist those with limited financial resources.

At this time, Chateaux Serenity Assisted Living and Memory Care only offers care for those with private pay options.
